Indeed, it is loaded during compilation of the image.

Yes.  But as you see in the documentation, this is not yet implemented as 
intented.

Yes, but probably a bit different.  The current git HEAD system includes 
~/.gforthrc, no option is there to disable this, and it yet doesn't include 
siteinit.fs.
