i'm actually very interested in the possibility of getting the BSL to
operate as intended without trying to workaround it by using racket itself;
i too am in a course using drracket, but i'm not a fan of the environment at
all. much more pleased in my emacs environment instead.

perhaps just using #lang htdp/bsl will be enough. i don't know yet.
