[Fsuk-manchester] CRM solution

Hi

I'm looking for a CRM solution thingy to use internally for a project 
I'm about to start.

I have no experience in this field what so ever and so wondered if 
anyone had any preferences

Obviously SugarCRM[1] is the most obvious project to go with, however 
various people have recommended vtiger[2], and I am sure other people 
may recommend something different.

Really I'm only looking at stuff which the FSF perceives to be Free 
Software,

Written in any of php, python or perl with a mySQL or PostgresQL backend.

If it involves compiling stuff, like plone (the portal system) does, I 
cant use it because its a VPS :(
