Hi,
The Police and Justice Bill was discussed last night in the lords:
http://www.theyworkforyou.com/lords/?id=2006-10-10a.204.0
The discussion of amendments to the software section starts from section
211.3, but I can't work out how to make a link to that that includes
everything after it - there aren't any anchors, only divs with ids...
Search for
'My Lords, I move Amendment
<http://www.theyworkforyou.com/glossary/?gl=114> No. 128 on behalf of my
noble friend Lord Northesk. He has asked that I convey his apologies to
the House. He simply cannot be present today due to other serious
commitments.'
to get to the start.
The Earl of Errol says:
It is all very well to say, "They are the good guys, we won't prosecute
them", but I do not think that is good enough. I have great trouble with
laws <http://www.theyworkforyou.com/glossary/?gl=38> that hand over
powers to the enforcers and say, "It is at our discretion whether we are
going to prosecute you".'
'
which pretty much sums it up.
Graham
