Windows 2003 and XP, pretty risky "cutting edge" stuff if you ask
me. Immature file systems, suspect security record, certainly a
razor blade I wouldn't want to slide down.

charged, but it always worries me when IT Directors don't focus on
the technology, bit like the finance director not focusing on the
money, as that is when the salesmen flog them lemons, and the world
has had enough of IT lemonade.

But are you going to take lessons in IT management from someone who
was allegedly still in charge of people still installing Windows 95
in 2004.... I think not.
