Great topic. I agree. This will be quite the overhaul! Perhaps we should propose some type of organizing scheme? By level of usage (beg, intermediate, adv?), by functional use (notes, todos, exporting, math, babel?), etc.? Just some ideas. If one's going to reorganize, might as well do it to the max!
 

Secondly, does Org possess any technology that can be used to
automatically generate a useful index for Worg? Or
alternately/additionally a sitemap or other automated representation of
the full file/directory structure (e.g. using org-fstree[1])?


That's a great idea as well. We should definitely find something that is self-updating. I would think that really thinking through the structure of Worg and integrating that into the directory structure of the git repo would help with that?
