So you would feel okay if e.g. 40 lurkers each sent a message into this 
thread asking people to Cc them? And then some of them sent an 
additional message into every subthread that interests them, to ensure 
that they are Cc'd there as well? The lists of addressees tend to alter 
between subthreads, after all.
