Appreciating your effort. However, being afraid the task is still more complicated. In fact, no one here on this list -- me inclusive -- will be able to say what needs to be written in that intro. Because all know Emacs. It needs the questions and comments of the unexperienced user.
At least if thinking of an intro for the non-programmer. It probably makes sense keeping also an intro for programmers.
