Maybe it has more fanboys because it has more users? And (ignoring your
trap and turning to a constructive stance) it seems logical to easy
things for those who wish to contribute to the project using whatever
Free tools, while the GNU vs The Rest of the World position just stirs
hostility everywhere, including on other Free Software developers. At
this point, if I were a Git or Mercurial developer I wouldn't be full of
sympathy towards GNU (and, by extension, the FSF) seeing how my tool is
deemed by prominent members of the FSF.
