First of all, sorry for my late reply.

Second, as cvs access is blocked here by the firewall, I've to
make the update from home, to try the same new Emacs version as
the one you used.

I'll try as well to cut different parts of my .emacs and my
.gnus files, to try isolating the problem.

I keep you posted in the next days.
