It's easy to implement: (defalias 'frame-local-variable-if-set-p 'frame-local-variable-p) make-variable-frame-local is not like make-variable-buffer-local: it does not cause `setq' to make the variabke frame-local. It only means that the variable setting may be changed on a frame-by-frame basis via frame-parameters. Stefan
