FWIW, I recently bought and installed a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S and was only able to write to write to it after I installed dvdrtools. "cdrtools -scanbus dev=ATAPI:" just couldn't find it. FWIW, I'm running Linux 2.6.10. -- Larry Siden http://umich.edu/~lsiden/
