check that with the user the duplicity process is run as. usually errors like
that emerge when people run duplicity with cron without realizing that it is
run as root or whatever user is configured to run the job.
try to write a test script that first lists the available keys and then
executes duplicity.
btw. http://duply.net takes care of that for you if you want to go the easy
route.
