I would suggest doing full backups more than once a month if your files
change often. In order to do a full restore, you first have to restore
the last "full" backup then all the incrementals. If you have lots of
incrementals, this can take a long time and makes you more exposed to
random data corruption errors.
If you have limited upstream bandwidth, like I do with DSL, you might
want to consider backing up locally to a usb disk and then rsyncing the
backup to your remote server.
