Richard,

Thank you for the info that Denemo's File -> Open is supposed to
be able to read MIDI files. I tried three files. If I
understand correctly, at least one of them, perhaps all of them,
were exported from NoteEdit. The "file" command reports them as

Achildsproclamation.mid: Standard MIDI data (format 1) using 5 tracks at 1/384
zt1.mid: Standard MIDI data (format 1) using 2 tracks at 1/384
zt2.mid: Standard MIDI data (format 1) using 2 tracks at 1/384

When I attempt to open any of them, Denemo immediately crashes.
Here's what 0.8.12 reports when I attempt to open them:

==============================================================================

Parent: child exited, pid = 20584, exit status = 0
** Message: File '/home/rob2/dl/Achildsproclamation.mid' loaded.
** Message: format: 1 (several simultaneous tracks); number of tracks: 5;
division: 384 PPQN.

==============================================================================

Parent: child exited, pid = 20588, exit status = 0
** Message: File '/home/rob2/dl/zt1.mid' loaded.
** Message: format: 1 (several simultaneous tracks); number of tracks: 2;
division: 384 PPQN.

==============================================================================

Parent: child exited, pid = 20592, exit status = 0
** Message: File '/home/rob2/dl/zt2.mid' loaded.
** Message: format: 1 (several simultaneous tracks); number of tracks: 2;
division: 384 PPQN.

==============================================================================

I guess I need to file a bug report.

Thanks,

Robert Riches
