installing ddd 3.3.7 on cygwin

I type "./configure ; make " from the ddd  3.3.7 folder , which contains the following:

 

COPYING.DOC  acinclude.m4  configure.ac      doc      libiberty  texinfo
COPYING.LIB  aclocal.m4    ddd               etc      ltmain.sh  themes
Makefile.am  config.guess  ddd-3.3.7-1.spec  icons    readline   vsllib
Makefile.in  config.sub    ddd.spec.in       include  termcap

 

and I get :

 

$ ./configure; make
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.

 

Cygwin some how doesn't recognise or run configure.ac???

Please help.
