I had the same problem. Long saga on the way to giving up. I had to
get the only later version of ddd I could find, located at the bashdb
site (search sourceforge). That helped, but I still had to modify the
config options (see my posts to bug-ddd). The original reasons I
downloaded ddd are because:

1) it's a cool idea and probably would save me time
2) the mozilla build instructions specifically told me to.

However, I found that with the latest gcc, RH, lesstiff, mozilla,
etc. DDD is not at all easy to get running. I am still getting
segfaults and don't have the time to invest in tracking them down.
Sent messages to the bug-ddd list with no reply. Then I noticed on
the website that the maintainer is no longer working on DDD. So I
asked around on IRC, and, AFAIK, no one is using DDD anymore, which is
too bad. It's a great project and someone ought to pick it up.

I would be willing to pay for commercial support. Not much, because I
am just using it for fun, but I'd pay $100 for a little support. I
offerred to send the maintainer of bashdb pizza on the sourceforge
forum but never heard back. Anyway, if anyone is maintaining DDD,
take a look at my bug report, I don't think it's too boneheaded and I
would be willing to do some legwork to help fix it so I can try DDD
with Mozilla on my workstation.
