This is a list for GNU Parted, not gpart. Gpart is a
partition rescue program ;) You've come to the right place,

The first 2 goals is possible, but not 2. or "if this is not possible.."
Problem: the / partition is "surrounded". Partitions have to be
continuous. In this case, there doesn't seem to be an easy way around
the problem.
Have you read the Parted documentation? There is a section with
examples, which should explain this fairly well.
