It is unclear to me how you lost your work. If you lost 75 hours of
work it sounds more like your daily backup failed.

If you do not like the format of man-pages (which I agree is an
acquired taste), you might have an easier time learning from a book:

You are asking me to give up an (indirect) income without providing me
with an alternative income - that's why. If you can convince others to
pay, that will be cool with me, too.

I have the feeling that if none of the options given to you so far are
acceptable to you, you should probably either build an alternative or
pay someone to do it. I have the feeling you will not be a happy GNU
Parallel user.
