Sorry I don't have this nailed down to make it repeatable/debuggable.
Twice now (two separate logins) I've had a situation where a file
is displaying in an edwin window but does not show in the buffer list
(^X^B).  I can't kill the buffer (even though it's on my screen)
with ^Xk because it doesn't exist.  Once off my screen however
(for example, I'm now typing this message in the window that was
displaying it), it is gone.
