The most recent version of GNU inetutils is 1.4.2, you can also use
the CVS version which you can get from Savannah
(http://sv.gnu.org/projects/inetutils).

   Is there a more recent release or if not can you give me some tips
   on building the cvs for linux, I have failed so far :-).

You need a full operating system like GNU/Linux to build inetutils,
see the README-alpha file for details on how to build inetutils from
CVS.
