IMHO, that is not a problem, we do it for other applications, for
example the pop daemon from mailutils take it roots from the GNU pop3d
which is a different package.  Until GNU mailutils becomes more stable,
that is fine (and better) for the short run.

Please do not post general discussions in the commit list.  I(and probably
others) got my(our) filters setup and will miss it.
