NetBSD 1.6 and grub

Hey all,
I'm sorry for posting this here, but I searched the net for an answer and found 
nothing.  That said, I'll sa I'm sorr in advance if this is a dumb question.
First let me explain what I'm doing so you can make sure I'm sane.

Hardware:  
soekris Net4511 (SBC www.soekris.com) 
Prism2.5 PCI 802.11b card

Software:
Etherboot 5.0.7 -> Grub (nbgrub) -> NetBSD 1.6

Build system is Netbsd-1.6 (i386)

Anyway, I'm trying to build GRUB 0.92, unpacked to /usr/grub-0.92.
cd /usr/grub-0.92, 
./configure --enable-diskless --enable-sis900 (I had to give it a NIC)
make

Make fails saying:
make  all-recursive
Making all in netboot
Making all in stage2
make: don't know how to make pre_stage2. Stop

make: stopped in /usr/grub-0.92/stage2
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/grub-0.92
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/grub-0.92

If I cd to ./stage2 and try
make nbgrub

I get:
gcc  -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wunused -Wshadow -Wpointer-arith 
-malign-jumps=1 -malign-loops=1 -malign-functions=1 -Wundef  -o nbloader 
nbloader.S
nbloader.S:20: nbi.h: No such file or directory
nbloader.S:21: diskless_size.h: No such file or directory
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/grub-0.92/stage2

And that's where I stand.  Any suggestions?  Help is always appreciated.
