This is unlikely. Please run
make clean && make check
to verify you don't use an old object file in your cobc binary.

These are the screenio tests which don't work on all terminals (because
the terminal must be initializable even if "in background".
Often exporting TERM=xterm works, if not other terminals may do...
I think about skipping these tests by default and only activate upon
request.
