I'm not sure if I agree with you here:
Only the ratio of the nr of errors divided by the nr of unforced moves has a
different influence than the cube error ratio.
A single cube error has just as much influence on the outcome of a match as
a single checker play error.
Imo this is logical, because there are far more opportunities in a game of
backgammon to make checker play errors than there are to make checker play
errors.
First of all, once you have doubled and your opponent owns the cube you
can't make a doubling error anymore. And second, the cube error ratio only
considers 'close or actual' cube decisions. When you have the worst of the
backgammon game, which should be about half of the time, your doubling
decision is usually not close at all, so these moves are not counted in the
cube error ratio.
