uuencode in mailx

Hi Team,
I am part of Esteemed organisation  where we are uplifting a host. As part
of upliftment we are trying to migrate a script from an older solaris host
to a new DC linux server.

A script is trying to encode an excel and mail to a DL. In the older host
the "UUENCODE" command works fine while in the new host although it encodes
the file but doesn't send the email as an attachment rather sends in the
email body with ASCII values.

command format : uuencode =  test.txt test_attachment.test | mail -s "xyz"
someone@email.com

Please help!!!
