Hi, I'm the maintainer of gettext and php in MacPorts, the Mac OS X package
management system. We're having trouble building some software after updating
gettext from 0.17 to 0.18. For example, php52 @5.2.13 and php4 @4.4.9 say:
Undefined symbols:
"_zif_setlocale", referenced from:
_basic_functions in basic_functions.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
And gtk1 @1.2.10 says:
In file included from gtkintl.h:7,
from gtkmain.c:56:
/opt/local/include/libintl.h:434: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or
'__attribute__' before 'libintl_newlocale'
php5 @5.3.2 and gtk2 @2.20.1 don't have any problem with gettext 0.18. I'm
trying to figure out if this represents a bug in gettext, or a bug in the older
versions of gtk and php, and how we can fix it.
