To whom it may concern:

I am not sure whether you guys are interested, but
I found two enhancements to diff3 that cut down on the number of
conflicts I was experiencing.

1.  Use the -w option of diff to ignore white space.
2.  You receive a conflict when the file mine contains an addition next
to the
     location where the file yours contains a deletion, and vice versus.

To that end I modified the code to add:
1. A -w flag to allow ignoring white space.
2. A --allow-addition-deletion to allow the resolution of additions next

to deletions without a conflict.

Attached is the modified diff3.c file  (modified from 2.8.7) and
a tar file containing a directory with a script (test.sh) and test files
I used
to test my modifications.
