Bug with tar command

Hi,
I'm having problem using tar to extract filename with square bracket in it 
([]).  I wonder if you it is just the tar version that I'm  using (1.13.25) or 
it still hasn't been fixed.  For example, if my "test.tar" contains the file 
"test[1].txt", this command will give me an error:
"tar -xvf test.tar test[1].txt".  I know that I can still use "tar -xvf 
test.tar test*.txt" to extract it but I just want you to know of the bug.
