Next diffutils release when?

Hi,

since the release of diffutils 2.8.1 nearly two years ago, some bugs
have been reported against diffutils, and some have also been fixed.

Distributors keep shipping diffutils 2.8.1 with the bugs (among them the
sdiff bug I reported in February 2003 and that Paul Eggert fixed, see
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/bug-gnu-utils/2003-02/msg00248.html

Could bug-fix releases be made on a regular schedule, say after three
months or so, in order to get the fixes out to Linux distributors?
