Morning,theres a bug in match() when trying to ()|() match stuff... it matches it but only copies the first grouped match to the array: echo -e "a\nb\nc" | gawk '{ print match($0, /(a)|(b)|(c)/, S); if (S[1]) print S[1] }' has been tested on v3.1 to the patched v3.1.2.
