The next gettext release will use libtool-1.4 which automatically adds
-rpath when constructing executables. This kind of problem will
therefore go away.

GNU gettext 0.10.38 does not use Solaris libintl, it uses its own
libintl. This is because the Solaris libintl/msgfmt combination does
not work with GNU PO files.

Yes there are rumors that the Solaris people might add support for the
GNU .mo files to their libintl. Whether they will also support the
ngettext() function, I don't know.
