Follow-up Comment #15, bug #33250 (project pspp):
This suggests to me, that the root cause was, in fact, a windows bug which has
recently been fixed by microsoft's automatic upgrades.
I think the best we can do therefore is to add a warning if the number of
cases in a file appears to be less (or more!) than expected.
