Erik: the test you were asking for earlier (to make sure that ; doesn't
work as a comment) isn't necessary because squashing the commits, as Tim
has done, removed the code path you were concerned about.

I did find a minor new issue ("datamash check" doesn't parse the vnlog
header), and I'll send out a patch in the next week or two.
