dd with big bs

I just did:

dd bs=3000M

and got:

dd: invalid number `3000M'

I then spent some time of finding the limit. It would, however, have
been a help if dd had given me the information on what the number
should be. E.g.

dd: invalid number `3000M'. Must be less than 2147483647
