I don't know. You need to say more. Have you tried the latest snapshot
or code from subversion?

No. I used cfengine 2.1.10 and there was no statement in cfservd.c:
  signal(SIGCHLD,SIG_IGN);

So the packages upgrade via cfrun/cfservd was going good. I have read
the debian mail archives and there was some discussion about that somebody is messing with SIGCHLD handler. So i looked through the sources and found the new statement for SIGCHLD. So somebody has added this with an purpose. When i change the SIGCHLD statement everything runs fine. So it solved my problem and definitly also for other debian maintainers. I can now upgrade the cluster via apt-get update; apt-get upgrade without any errors.

cfengine: 2.1.13

On our debian cluster (linux 2.6.11 kernel) we update the packages on the node via cfrun/cfservd. This does not work with cfengine 2.13. I got the following error:
        Can't ignore signal CHLD, forcing to default

After spitting through the code. We changed the code into:
signal(SIGCHLD,SIG_IGN);

 /* HvB && WdJ */
 signal(SIGCHLD,SIG_DFL); ---> This solved our problem

Is this the right approach?
