Hi Jennifer,

It looks as though the original lock on the daemon is being is being
confused with the lock from the cfengine run command. It's been a
while since version 1.6.3, but I seem to recall that this was a cut'n'paste
error in the code. You could try searching for a GetLock("cfd",...)
call in the text and changing it to GetLock("xcfd",...) or something
to see if that helps.

I would like to encourage you though to upgrade to version 2.0.2 of
cfengine (see all the notes about doing this at http://www.cfengine.org).
This contains many improvements over 1.6.3, both in terms of efficiency,
reliability and functionality.
