cfd daemons exit (lock expired)

Hello,

I am using cfengine  1.6.3 on a Redhat 7.1 cluster. The daemons on my nodes
keep exiting after a few hours (8-24). The message returned is "Lock
/var/run/cfengine/lock._etc_opt_csm_cfd_conf.c5bn08.cfd.daemon
expired...(after XXX/5 minutes)". Does anyone know what might be causing
the lock to expire? Is there a setting I need in my config files to keep
this from happening?
