The instructions were buried at the end of my message.

    If you have this patch installed, then run this benchmarking
    script with Bison in your path.  To exercise a built non-installed
    bison, the easiest is to use the script "bison" in tests/.

With an example:

sulaco-eth% PATH=$PWD/_build/tests:$PATH ./bench.pl


bench expects to have a bison that supports a skeleton named push.c.
