Hi Kim, Phil,
The good news is that the features that you needed and requested have
now been implemented in the software. It looks good: There is the Insert
menu, then two entries, one for Footnotes and the other one for
Crossreferences. I hope this is going to help your students
tremendously! The updated software is in the git repository.
