Sorry for the late reply.

I just confirmed both functions are necessary to fix. The page load is used in 
the avrdude verify, and can confirm that this fails without your change.

No actions necessary. Avrdude is working as it should, this was a question as 
whether both functions needed to be modified (paged_load and paged_write). I 
only wanted to verify the fix for both as I said I would.
