Oooh. I just got a private report (Eric got a copy also) that Windows
XP seems to be changing the I/O registers periodically, in an apparent
attempt to look for newly attached parallel port devices. Not sure if
there is a way to turn this behaviour off or not. I'll let Eric chime
in - maybe he knows more about this (I'm a Unix guy, don't know much
about Windows).
