Yeah, I figured as much ;-( Oh well, if memory serves it wasn't too long after the last update [to AVRStudio] that the latest parts (tiny[248]4) were officially announced with datasheets. If I get the chance to redesign (thru-hole -> surface mount conversion) a part I built last year, those parts are looking quite nice, esp if I can get the USI to do I2C without any gotchas or glitches.

(See the pro side of this: we are now
basically in the same state as e.g. IAR.  We get advance warnings
about new devices, and access to preliminary datasheets, so we can
really support the new AVRs by the time they hit the market.)
Yeah, this is a very good thing. Now I just have to keep my toolchain up to date to make use of them... Gotta give gcc 4.x a try anyway, seeing some pretty blatant lack of optimization with 3.4.x right now.
