[avr-gcc-list] AVR-GCC for Mega8 and 8535

Hi,

 

I am currently using the avr-gcc 3.0.2 bundle from AVRFreaks GCC page with a 2313 and 8535 with no problems.

 

I want to start working with the Mega8 which I understand will require me to move to the avr-gcc 3.2 bundle.

 

I note that this is designated as an "experimental" release.

 

Does this mean there are still issue that really need to be sorted and I should wait or it has just not had much of a work-out?

 

Should I download the bundle from the AVRFreaks page or should I do a CVS checkout and build locally? (I'm on Win2k with cygwin)

If so is there a specific set of CVS tags I should use?

 

Is there any indication on when the next AVR-GCC bundle will be released? I can easily wait a while.
