No, we have a project with >10000 NCSL (Non-commentary Source Lines) of
asm/c/c++ running just fine on the ATMega128. Peter Jansen posted a
number of patches to binutils & gcc to this list (some of which are in
the latest releases of these packages). 

I assume that you have already searched throught the list archive?
