Hehe - no, I definitely have AM_CONDITIONAL(MYCONDITIONAL, blah)
in my configure.in.  As Lars said, the reason I get the errors
is that the underlying functionality was broken/nonexistent up
until a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
