Well, in addition to mentioning that $as_me is no longer provided by
default, the said NEWS entry should also mention a way to force it to
exist in a manner that is still compatible with older m4sh. In other
words, it sounds like we need to document AS_PREPARE first. I'll wait
until after Paolo's ideas on AS_GENERATED_INIT have settled before
worrying about the NEWS.
