I don't think Aspell can do that with out modifying the source. I didn't
see a need for an .aspell directory since there are not that many files.
However, by modifying the defaults in the config_keys table in
common/config.cpp I think you can get Aspell to do what you want it
shouldn't be that hard.
If you care to make such a thing a compile time option. I will gladly
except it.
