well, it's not a bug. it's simply a limitation of the swf file format afaik.

i'm catching the output of pdf2swf to find pages with certain warnings or errors. those pages can be rendered with -poly2bitmap. if that fails too, i'm using imagemagick and ghostscript to render plain images from the pdf page.

ask if you need more advice.

However, in our case, this error often occurs because some smart guy embeds detailed images as vector-graphics directly into the PDF. Therefore I wonder if anyone know some software to actually take those embedded graphics and re-embed them as a rastered image. Important thing would be, to keep the text as “real” PDF-text so that it can be selected in the resulting swf-File.
