I don't see how that is possible. I'm pretty sure the webcam does colour. If I 
use aviplay or
mplayer to view the avi created by ffmpeg from the webcam, it is in colour. 
Similarly, if I
convert the frames to ppm images using transcode, they are in colour.
When I turn the ppms into jpegs and use jpeg2swf, the result is in colour.

If it is too much trouble, don't bother. I'll just use the workaround I have 
mentioned before (avi
-> ppm -> jpeg -> swf)

PS: Suppose I have an avi with audio in it. I convert the video portion as 
listed above, and
separate out the audio and turn it into a wav file or an mp3 file. How would I 
combine it with the
swf file so that audio and video are in sync in the final swf file ?
